The Ngātiwai Trust Board have an exciting opportunity available for a capable Manager to lead and grow its Resource Management Unit and assist Ngātiwai Iwi in implementing kaitiakitanga and achieving effective environmental management.
The successful applicant will develop relationships with stakeholders and external parties and oversee preparation of submissions to councils and government agencies. Their team will provide an Iwi perspective on a range of areas including conservation, marine management, freshwater management.
The role involves RMA planning and consenting and heritage management, whilst leading and developing Ngātiwai's resource management team.
Training and mentoring will be provided for the Resource Management Unit Manager, but the successful candidate will ideally have the following skills, experience and knowledge:
The Ngātiwai Trust Board is the mandated Iwi Authority for Ngatiwai Iwi, and is registered under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957. The Resource Management Act recognises that iwi have a special cultural and spiritual relationship with the environment and Maori culture and traditions along with ancestral lands, water, sites, waahi tapu and other taonga (treasures) should be recognised.
