Taikina to tātou whakapapa

As we move through our first day of Alert Level 4 lockdown and more cases being announced throughout the day, we share 3 key messages for whānau:

#1

Noho haumaru ki te kāinga – Stay home, Save lives:
In Level 4 Covid conditions it is important to stay home within your bubble. We encourage whānau to get out for a bit of exercise, continue to attend your medical appointments, and ONLY shop for urgent need.

#2

Werohia ki te rongoa ārai Kowhiti19 – Get Vaccinated:
Covid19 Vaccinations are currently paused, but we understand they will be available again in the next 24 to 48 hours. When they do, we encourage all whānau to get vaccinated as this is greatest defense against Covid-19. We will advise of vaccination and testing schedules of all the local hauora providers once they are confirmed to us.

#3

Manaaki i te whānau – Lookout for each other:
Reach out to your kaumātua, whānau or other vulnerable community members you know may need support or someone to talk to.

The kaimahi of the Ngātiwai Trust Board will be working from home for the remainder of the week and have been making calls to our kaumātua to check in that they are ok.

The Delta Variant of Covid-19 can spread more easily and rapidly and as such means the situation we are currently in is developing quickly. We will do our best to keep you informed, but also steer you to https://covid19.govt.nz/ as the most accurate and up to date source of all information.
