Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Bond and Cleave whānau as they come through an exhausting few weeks supporting our mokopuna battling Covid-19.

We mihi to them for showing courage and bravery in sharing their story and experience with this deadly disease. We are pleased to see that our pēpi is now showing signs of recovery.

This whānau has been through a lot, so a "give a little " page has been set up to enable them to do something nice or help a little financially for what ever they need. Any support you are able to give would be appreciated: https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/please-help-this-whanau

We send our aroha to all the whānau and hope that baby Kawariki makes a full and speedy recovery.

Kia kaha tonu.

Update from Awa's mum, Chontel:

Wow, I just want to say on behalf of myself, Kawariki and our whanau. Thank you, thank you for your kind words.

It wasn’t an easy decision to share our story, but after the love and support we have received I know it was the best decision. Hopefully our story can help other families going through this.
I am also in the middle of sending a private email to Jacinda to hopefully get some things changed for babies in Isolation management. Here’s hoping my words make some sort of difference .

I hope everyone is staying safe and well.

Please know that Awa is doing so much better since being home! He just wanted to come home.  Again, thank you to everyone for thinking of us! No words can express how grateful we are.

Here’s a small photo of Awa from last night  we are finally getting smiles back

Thank you so much xxxx
